Medicare’s open enrollment for new or changed coverage is currently on and will run until Dec 7. Now is the time to review changes to benefits and make changes to your health care and prescription drug plans, which will take effect from January 1, 2020.
Want to change your Medicare coverage for 2020? Medicare’s Open Enrollment Period is the best time to make a change. You have until December 7, 2019 to:
- Change how you get your Medicare coverage—Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage Plan
- Switch Medicare Advantage Plans (that include or don’t include drug coverage)
- Join, switch, or drop a Medicare prescription drug plan
During Open Enrollment, think about the year ahead
Not all Medicare coverage options offer the same benefits. Maybe your needs have changed and you now want prescription drug coverage, help with out-of-pocket costs, a broader provider network, or additional benefits, like vision, hearing, or dental coverage. Think about what benefits are most important in helping you meet your unique health care needs in 2020.
Review your current Medicare coverage
Does your current Medicare coverage offer the services you need? If you have other types of health or prescription drug coverage, make sure you understand how that coverage works with Medicare. Now’s the time to change your Medicare coverage to the plan that’s right for you.
