Happy Mother’s Day from the Walker’s Drug Store team!
Men are what their mothers made them. — Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The men behind the iconic 100 year old Walker’s Drug Store attest that their mother’s love is the engine that drives the vehicle. Sylvia Lemelin, first wife of a pharmacist now mother of a pharmacist and pharmacy manager. Her role as a stay-at-home mom included far more than just domestic duties. It was not uncommon to see her working in the pharmacy, in fact, at one point in time she was responsible for Accounts Receivables, managing between 600 – 800 accounts monthly.
Sylvia Lemelin is the wife of Dan Lemelin and mother to Jeff and Greg Lemelin. Dan purchased Walker’s Drug Store in 1970 and ran it as head pharmacist for 29 years. Jeff took over as head pharmacist in 2005. He now runs the store with his brother Greg.
Sylvia was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was working as a flight attendant in Boston when she first met Dan, who was attending pharmacy school at the time. After Dan graduated, they got married and moved back down to Charlotte to take care of their newly bought business together.
Sylvia is only one of many important mothers that Jeff and Greg take care of. Walker’s Drug Store is more than just a pharmacy, we’re a family. This year, we extend Happy Mother’s Day greetings to all the mothers, step-mothers, mother-in-laws and mother figures out there. Walker’s Drug Store cares about you!
